Simba 'Roar Into Spring' Event Retailer Listing

Simba is the Spring Premiere Event featured sculpture taking place worldwide April 17-20, 2009.

The sculpture is from the I Can't Wait To Be King song sequence from Disney's blockbuster, The Lion King. Simba asks his mother if he can go to the water-hole with his best friend, Nala. Their parents agree but only if Mufasa's majordomo, the hornbill Zazu, goes with them. Simba and Nala elude Zazu's supervision during I Just Can't Wait to Be King and go to the graveyard instead.

A Numbered Limited Edition (NLE) of 1,500, Simba was sculpted by Bruce Lau. The sculpture will bear a 15th Anniversary backstamp in honor of the film's release.

Please click image at right for a complete listing of Authorized Dealers participating in the event for North America, Canada and Europe. Collectors in Asia should contact their local retailer regarding participation in the event.

This piece is bigger than I thought it would be. Very colorful in person and definitely adding it to my collection.

Jeff-I too was surprised with its size when I saw in person.

Disneyqueen-You're welcome! On the presentation page, if you click Simba, there is also a back view of the sculpture. FYI.

We recieved our piece over the weekend.

I was initally on the fence with this piece, but with The Lion King being one of my favorite films I had to get it.

After seeing the piece in person I love it, the colors used are perfect and so vivid. Bruce really captured the moment.

I agree it is much larger than I thought it was going to be.

I decided not to get this piece.

Are you kidding me? This is EXACTLY along the lines of what I had been asking for all those years at the WDAC Conventions!

While I like the piece that Patrick sculpted with Simba, Nala, and Zazu, the Little King, Big Roar piece is more what I had imagined.

Thanks to Bruce for the great job sculpting this, and for the Big Wheels at WDCC/WDAC to continue to do pieces from The Lion King (and Fantasia!).

Now, I'd love to see the animal pyramid from the end of the "I Can't Wait To Be King" sequence. Pehaps it would make a great Signature Series piece? :-)

If not, Hakuna Matata!

Finally had a chance to look at Simba. Very colorful. I think it is a pose that nice added addition to the collection. I have a Grolier ornament with the same pose and I've seen the WDAC 2D version, which I love.
