Additional Information: A Moment in Time Collection

Click Image for a Larger View
Border Fine Arts, the UK’s premier manufacturer of hand-painted resin figurines, is very proud to announce the launch of the first two figurines in their new A Moment in Time collection.

Sculpted by Peter Mook under the direction of Border Fine Arts’ design director, Ray Ayres, the figurines are made entirely by hand in the Border Fine Arts studios in Langholm. Both figurines are to be produced in worldwide numbered editions of 250. After casting and assembling by hand, each will be painted by hand, meaning no two will be identical, and, as befits such prestigious studies, every piece will be presented with an individually numbered limited edition certificate of authenticity.

The new figurines portray favourite ‘moments in time’ from two of Walt Disney’s most successful films — Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio. The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs figurine [pictured] is inspired by the iconic moment in the film when Snow White wakes up to find the dwarfs looking at her in awe from the bottom of her bed. Every intricate detail of the scene is included in the model from interpreting the grain of the wood to the adorable expressions of the dwarfs. Meanwhile the memorable ‘moment in time’ when Pinocchio first comes to life is the inspirational scene for the Geppetto & Pinocchio figurine.

With such a pedigree the figurines are destined to become the ultimate ‘must have’ for serious Disney collectors.

'A Moment in Time' - Border Fine Arts to unveil Prestigious Disney Collection

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs captures one of the most memorable ‘moments’ in Disney’s celebrated film, which remains one of the most popular Disney movies since it was first released in 1937.

Regal but aloof Elsa carries a terrible secret.  On the very day she is crowned Queen of Arendelle, the icy beauty inadvertently reveals to her subjects that she possesses a strange and frightening power:  She can project freezing blasts of sub-zero cold frigid enough to lock her entire kingdom in a never-ending winter.  Fleeing into a self-imposed exile, Elsa casts off the restrictions of her past and finally embraces the wild and liberating power that she has so long denied.  All hail the Snow Queen!

This character-authentic polystone mini-bust is designed by Patrick Romandy-Simmons and sculpted by Jacqueline Perreault.  Standing 7 ¼” tall, Elsa comes painted and ready to display.

Both Anna and Elsa are an Open Edition release, scheduled for October, 2014.  Both retail for $70.00 US each.

Grand Jester Studios' Disney Busts dynamically capture all the grandeur and power of the Walt Disney Studios' noblest heroes, loveliest heroines and vilest villains in a character-authentic collection of highly detailed and hand-painted polystone busts.

Through dramatic poses and film-inspired design, these expressive portrayals recreate the unique mannerisms and individuality of favorite animated and live-action characters.

MICKEY’S OF GLENDALE: The Walt Disney Imagineering employee store in Glendale, Calif., will open its doors to D23 Members on April 26, June 21, and other dates throughout the year, with special guests and surprises. Members will have an opportunity to purchase limited-edition merchandise and view the park-like grounds at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts’ creative “think tank.”

SCREENINGS ON THE DISNEY STUDIO LOT: Throughout the year, D23 will continue its popular movie screenings inside the historic Studio Theatre at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. The 2014 roster includes Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and The Little Mermaid.

D23 DAY AT THE WALTDISNEY STUDIOS AND ARCHIVES: D23’s members-only tours of the historic Studio Lot and Walt Disney Archives in Burbank return, highlighting historic moments from Disney film, television, and theme parks—as well as showcasing many of the external locations used for filming Saving Mr. Banks. Tours will take place April 5, May 31, August 2, and November 8.

SIGNATURE EVENTS: Look for the return of some favorites, including the popular holiday offering DISNEY AND DICKENS (in Burbank in December), as well as other D23 traditions.
