More Views of the Malevolent Magistrate!

Additional angles have been added for Frollo (a side view pictured at left plus back view), a Numbered Limited Edition of 750 sculpted by Patrick Romandy-Simmons making his WDCC debut in March, 2008.

This side view gives a profile view of this Malevolent Magistrate. Frollo's rings will be plussed with ruby, sapphire and emerald colored gemstones. His chair is adorned with three golden fleur-de-lis made of pewter and antiqued with a gold finish as well as portions of his chair. A pewter heraldic emblem is inlaid in the chair. An additional front view angle will be added at a later date.

Without sounding to gung-ho, am looking forward to this sculpture. Quasimodo and Esmerelda rank amongst my top five favorite releases of 2007, so look forward to seeing how Frollo will look with them in person.

A clip of the Festival of Fools sequence (courtesy of YouTube.com) can be seen in this earlier blog entry.

i must say, the initial pic looked disappointing. specially with him seeming a bit off model with his features.
But after seeing these other angles, i think he is growing on me!:-)

I specifically liked how Patrick captured Frollo's angular jawline, something not as noticeable in the first image available.

I think Frollo will look great when the entire scene is put together. Patrick seems to be the 'go to' sculptor these days for characters sitting in chairs. He did the Evil Queen and Gaston villian series pieces, both sitting in chairs. Add another villian to his resume!

I really like this piece and his pose. Many people don't. But if you look at his character and his position, he probably hates to do this Festival of Fools, thinking it is so beneath him. The look says it all.

Like you Jeff, not sure why there are those against this moment chosen. When you watch the YouTube clip, Patrick captured Frollo perfectly! There is such a loathing of all going on around him that Patrick captured so well (at least from the photos).

You are correct Babs! This is Patrick's 3rd villain sculpted in a chair.
