Mine arrived broken from WDW. Hopefully they'll have a replacement. I personally know of 7 broken pieces thus far.

Hey Geoffrey,

Sorry to hear that your's arrived broken. I noticed both Disneyland and Walt Disney World are encouraging collectors to pick up the sculpture (when possible) due to the large, fragile size of the piece.

The seven (7) broken pieces you know of thus far, were all of them shipped from the parks? Any one park, has there been more breakage over the other?

I had mine shipped from Disneyland to my home in Oregon and it was damaged in shipment. When I spoke to the Disney DelivEARS rep she said they shipped one other that day and it was damaged in shipping as well. I believe this went to a very nice gentleman from Florida who I stood next to in line for several hours. The rep has been VERY nice and is trying to find an alternative shipper/freight carrier to get the figure to me in one piece. I think I am going to take a couple of days off of work to fly down, pick up the replacement piece, rent a car, and drive it home.

It's an amazing piece. The release event was a lot of fun. I met some great people while standing in line. I also got to meet Ruben Procopio and have him sign the certificate for the piece.

I can't say enough about how good the DelivEars people have been to work with on getting a replacement.

Don

Breakage is all over the place. Dealers, WDW, WDL. Mine was shipped air but I believe it was broken before it was shipped. The piece broken off was actually underneath the cardboard laying flat which if it was broken in shipping would have been above the cardboard in my opinion. Lets see what WDW has to say today. Hopefully there will be a replacement for mine. Thank!

Hi Mizrobin,

Very sorry to hear that yours arrived broken as well but encouraging how good DelivEARS has been about working on a replacement for you.

Talked with a dealer yesterday who had two in his shipment arrive broken. There are unpacking instructions included but there are certain areas as you lift the sculpture from the box to be very careful.

When I followed up regarding contact information at the theme parks, it was highly suggested as I posted, to pick the piece up due to its large, fragile size. Probably if possible, would be wise to pick up at your dealers as well, for those who ordered through a dealer vs. the theme parks. You planning on picking up in person may be worth it in the long run.

Please keep us updated on how you make out!

Hi Geoffrey,

Thanks for the update. Hopefully you'll experience the same service from WDW as Mizrobin is from Disneyland DelivEARS.

As mentioned in my previous posting earlier, one dealer I spoke with had two broken in his shipment and one was due to the delivery guy dropping in the truck. Going to follow up with a couple other dealers I speak with on a regular basis and see how their shipments fared.

After talking to my contact and again with the mail order department I will be getting a replacement. The mail order contact said she had 5 of the pieces that they shipped last week laying on her desk as damage returns. The breakage number just keeps growing and growing. Sure sounds like its going to make this a very valuable piece to own if you can get one intact.

I just made it home with my figure all in one piece. It was a 14+ hour drive home, but it was defiantly worth it for this piece.

Jerrie at DelivEARS was AMAZING to work with. She actually drove the piece over to my hotel room to deliver it to me. She credited back the shipping cost plus a little extra for my troubles and to help out with the gas home. She went way above and beyond my expectations. I asked her how long she has been with Disney - 41 years! She said she loves working for a company that allows employees to just take care of problems and to do what needs to be done to make a guest happy.

I'm so happy that I was finally able to get this amazing work of art home and in one piece. Now I just have to figure out where to put this....uhh.....behemoth.

Hi MizRobin,

Thanks for the update and glad you were able to get the sculpture home safely. It's too bad you had to physically drive and pick up the sculpture but very encouraging in hearing how well Disney DelivEARS took care of the situation. Enjoy the sculpture. I've yet to see in person but looks very impressive in photos.

Wow that's a shame that there have been so many broken in transit. I'm really glad I made the drive down to Orlando to pick up mine. It barely fit. Here's a pick of my #1 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3162/2933899613_15a6a07fd3_b.jpg

If anyone is interested, the World of Disney NY store will be getting 2 of those in soon. If you're in the NY area and would like one without having to ship - here's your chance!

Bonedaddy-Congratulations on getting #1 and sharing the image of your COA. From people's experience with having this piece shipped, you probably made a wise decision in driving down and picking yours up.

Keith-Thanks for the head's up for anyone in the NYC area. Highly recommend picking this one up in person. Seems worth it in the long run vs. the headache of dealing with one broken in transit.

So I got my second one delivered yesterday and I very happy to report its in ONE piece. I know of at least 25 now that are broken. WOW Bonedaddy how did you get #1, thats great. Both of mine from WDW were high 400's - 483 and 473. Good luck to all trying to secure this piece!

Hi Geoffrey,

Congratulations on receiving one that wasn't broken. Did you notice anything different in the way it was packaged? Was it sent to you any differently than the first one?

Behr said...

There was additional packing in the top of the box and a couple more pieces of styrafoam as well.

Thanks for the update Geoffrey. Glad to hear they took extra steps to ensure your replacement arrived with no problems. This piece has turned out to be quite the nightmare (pardon the pun).

Wow is all I can say about this behemoth of a Behemoth!! It is huge, very detailed, very striking! Can't say beautiful because it can't be described with a word like that.
Ruben did a fantastic job. Glad I was able to purchase one.

Jeff, as you missed seeing the upcoming Evil Queen & Raven, I missed seeing this one .. GRRR!

The day I arrived, one was partially unpacked to be signed (quite possible it was yours) and meant to ask Ray or Gary about it. I then got caught up in catching up in seeing all the other releases I hadn't yet seen in person and it slipped my mind.

Congratulations!!
