Straight from the Big Top, here comes Dumbo, the world-famous flyingelephant. The beloved baby pachyderm soars onto the scene to join the all-star parade of Disney characters from the animated title sequence of Walt Disney’s classic TV show The Mickey Mouse Club. With a little help from his little friends Timothy Mouse and Jiminy Cricket, Dumbo celebrates “the leader of the Club that’s made for you and me.” As with the previous releases from this series, Dumbo ("Spell it Out) an Open Edition release was sculpted by Bruce Lau.
The opening theme, "The Mickey Mouse March", was written by the show's primary adult host, Jimmie Dodd. It was also reprised at the end of each episode, with the slower "Now it's time to say goodbye" verse. A shorter version of the opening title was used later in the series, in syndication and on Disney Channel reruns. Dodd also wrote many other songs used in individual segments over the course of the series.
Although the show was filmed and broadcast in black and white, all of the animated segments - the opening theme, Mickey's introductions and farewells, the Jiminy Cricket shorts, etc. - were filmed in color. Below is the opening sequence (in color) courtesy of YouTube.com:

I was hoping Goofy would be the next addition to the MMC, sure hope they don't leave him out since the other 5 of the sensational six are already there! Cute Dumbo!
I'm sure Goofy will eventually be added. But my bet is since the Olympic Goofy is this summer's event piece, probably best to spread out the Goofy releases. We've had many Goofy's over the past few years, Skiing Goofy, Goofy & Wilbur, Olympic Goofy, and spotlight Goofy, not to mention the Goofy with the Fun & Fancy Free scene.

I watched the YouTube clip of the opening again this morning and can't imagine them not doing Goofy. It could end up being a pretty amazing (and pricey) piece with all those instruments. Can see a lot of plussing with this one.
Other than Goofy, can see Donald's Nephews and the Three Pigs & Wolf being potential contenders as well.
All the releases have been either an Open Edition or Limited to Production Year, wonder if Goofy would either be a latter or a Numbered Limited Edition and wrap up the series?

I agree with you that the Goofy could be pricy but he just has to be done or I sure hope he is at least. I guess this series must be doing well which is nice to see. A Limited Edition is probably where it would be headed.
