Take A Carpet Ride with Three Happy Chappies!!

Click Above Image for More Detail
That quixotic quackster Donald Duck journeys into South America with dapper José Carioca from Brazil and ebullient Panchito Pistoles the Mexican rooster as his tour guides.

Panchito graciously invites his two amigos to accompany him on “a nice little trip to Mexico on the magic serape.”  This multi-colored magic carpet sweeps the birds-of-a-feather trio over the beautiful land of song, dance and romance.

Panchito, José (who was introduced in Saludos Amigos) and Donald were animated throughout The Three Caballeros by, among others, Ollie Johnston, Ward Kimball and John Lounsbery, so it’s obvious Walt Disney wanted his most magnífico talent to bring these animated stars to the screen.

Plussed with pewter spurs on Panchito and a pewter ribbon on Donald’s hat, this muy grande sculpture embodies the fun and fiesta spirit of this animated carnivale of animated delights.

"Airborne Amigos' sculpted by Bruce Lau is a Numbered Limited Editioin (NLE) of 500 and one sculpture I've wanted to see done for many, many years ... Thanks WDCC!!!!

I absolutely love this piece. I am glad they put them all together. I love how they are interacting within the piece itself. I did not care for the size or poses of the original scene.

Okay, I was excited this morning (and all day) about hearing/seeing this piece. Now with the additional angles, I CAN'T WAIT! Hat's off to Bruce and team to create this piece! I'm so glad I was #1 on the list for this piece with my dealer!!!

Hey Justin,

I've been wanting and campaigning for them to do a sculpture of all three of them together on the carpet and couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out!

I have the original scene but always felt it was disjointed. Not only were they quite large in scale but the three didn't really interact with each other.

Am really glad they revisited this film!!

Hey Tim,

Aren't those additional angles cool???

I plan on printing out the backgrounds I used for those images, frame them and work into my display.

Told my dealer to ship as soon as it arrives .. Can't Wait!!
