Border Fine Arts, the UK’s premier manufacturer of
hand-painted resin figurines, is very proud to announce the launch of the first
two figurines in their new A Moment in
Time collection.
Sculpted by Peter Mook under the direction of Border Fine
Arts’ design director, Ray Ayres, the figurines are made entirely by hand in
the Border Fine Arts studios in Langholm. Both figurines are to be produced in
worldwide numbered editions of 250. After casting and assembling by hand, each will
be painted by hand, meaning no two will be identical, and, as befits such
prestigious studies, every piece will be presented with an individually
numbered limited edition certificate of authenticity.
The new figurines portray favourite ‘moments in time’
from two of Walt Disney’s most successful films — Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio. The Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs figurine [pictured] is inspired by the iconic moment
in the film when Snow White wakes up to find the dwarfs looking at her in awe
from the bottom of her bed. Every intricate detail of the scene is included in
the model from interpreting the grain of the wood to the adorable expressions
of the dwarfs. Meanwhile the memorable ‘moment in time’ when Pinocchio first
comes to life is the inspirational scene for the Geppetto & Pinocchio figurine.
With such a pedigree the figurines are destined to become
the ultimate ‘must have’ for serious Disney collectors.
I'm curious about two things: the final product and what is the scene from Pinocchio. I think I would display this so that I could see Snow White's 'view' of the Seven Dwarfs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the additional information!
You're welcome Tim!
ReplyDeleteBased on the description for Pinocchio, I'm wondering if the moment after he comes to life and dancing with Geppetto?
If following suit with the Snow White release, wondering if would contain additional characters such as Figaro and Cleo?
You guessed it correctly, Don. It is that moment from Pinocchio.
ReplyDeleteGeppetto is playing his accordion with Pinocchio off to the side as a real boy pointing at Cleo leaping out of her fish bowl. Figaro and Jiminy are also present. Unfortunately, it doesn't look anywhere near as impressive as the Snow White piece, and the characters look out of proportion to each other. The fishbowl with Cleo is especially huge.
I'd also probably go with Tim's display suggestion for the Snow White piece as her face appears to be the only thing really off with the piece; it comes off more folksy than true to the moment. Although, I do enjoy seeing the dwarfs from the back with Happy perched on the backs of Grumpy & Sneezy.
Oh, and FYI, the Pinocchio piece is 100 pounds less in price, so around $1,000 US dollars.
Thanks for the additional information regarding Pinocchio. Glad to see I haven't lost my touch in predicting upcoming releases ;)
ReplyDeleteWith resin, you can get a lot of detail like in the bed, flooring, etc. but nothing compares to porcelain when it comes to capture facial details.
Thanks for sharing the SW pics. Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I buy one of these
