L.A. Freeway Traffic Was "Dragon" Yesterday!

In preparation for the opening this July of D23 Presents: Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the massive head of the fire-breathing “Maleficent” dragon from the Fantasmic! nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park was transported by truck from Disneyland Resort in Anaheim to The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, traveling on Southern California freeways yesterday.

The Maleficent fire-breathing dragon from Fantasmic! measuring 15 feet long, 9-1/2 feet high and 6 feet wide was transported around 6:00am departing from Disneyland Resort by truck, fully visible to motorists. Scheduled arrival at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley approximately at 8:00am.

Upon arrival, media at the Reagan Library were able to see the unloading of the Maleficent Dragon from the truck and its placement into the exhibit hall.

The Maleficent Dragon will be one of the largest pieces on display among more than 500 items from Disney's to be installed as part of D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, a new exhibit opening July 6th at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, curated by the Walt Disney Archives and hosted by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.
