A 'Braided Beauty' Makes Her WDCC Debut!

From Snow White to Cinderella, from Ariel to Belle, the beauty and charm of Disney’s Princesses have enchanted audiences of all ages.

Now, from Tangled, a new princess has joined the royal ranks. Happy to be free of her imprisoning tower, Rapunzel joyfully luxuriates in her long tresses, freshly styled by the village children.

Ever conscious of the principles of authenticity and character, right down to the tiniest details, the Disney animators considered not only Rapunzel’s hair, but also how it would be lit; even how the textures on the fabrics would appear in relation to her skin.

'Braided Beauty,' a Numbered Limited Edition (NLE) of 750 was sculpted by Jacqueline Perreault Gonzales and plussed with pewter legs.

This charming sculpture embodies the carefree spirit of Rapunzel, the young lady with the 70 feet of golden hair and an unending yearning for adventure.

  1. I ordered this one this morning as well, and I'm hoping we'll get to see Flynn Ryder and Mother Gothel too!

  2. Already on order for me.

I really can't decide which piece I like better, Mickey and Field Mouse or Rapunzel.

There's so much to like about this piece! The movement, the coloring, her exhuberant expression...

But the thing that is really a WOW for me is her braid and the flowers. Just breathtaking for me!

    Thanks so much for this!

(Would it be too much to ask for a Flynn Rider and Pascal to go along with Rapunzel??? LOL He could be looking at her adoringly...)

  3. Absolutely love Rapunzel. She's gorgeous and spot on.

Other pieces I would love to see from this film include, but certai ly not limited to, Flynn, Pascal and Maximus.

There are SO MANY MORE GREAT PIECES TO DO.......

  4. This is my favorite of the releases!! I wish Tiana's introduction to the line was as detailed and colorful! Will be interesting to see how this one sells since Tiana was Open Edition and a high seller.

  5. Rapunzel is definitely high on my list of the new releases. Tangled is one of my favorite recent films and I love the coloring of Rapunzel’s dress. The tiny flowers in her hair are beautiful and there is so much movement to this piece. I can’t wait to see it in person!

  6. Love this. My favourite of the new releases. I love the movie and the pose is so great.
Here's hoping we'll see Mother Gothel too. Or Rapunzel, Flynn and Pascal in the boat during the lantern scene

  7. The sculpture looks great but I really don't understand why the limitation is so strict: only 750 pieces!

It's very strange for a so popular character, so expected by the collectors.

There will be many dissapointed people I think ...

  8. This is wonderful. Ordering two today. One for me and one for my daughter. She loves Rapunzel as she did Tiana when she came out. Wow, is my daughter a future collector?

Rapunzel is beautiful. Great to do it with this braid.

As for making it a limited edition, I would suggest to everyone who wants this one to call immediately. There may be disappointed people but it is bringing a new interest in the line.

Keep up the great work WDCC. We love the line and want it to continue. Rapunzel needs Flynn, Pascal and Mother Goethel.

  9. Wonderful, Wonderful piece!!!!
Looking forward to adding her to our collection. Agree with everyone else, Gotta have Pascal, Mother Goethel and how about Flynn Ryder on Maximus kind of a return to horses as with Mulan and Hercules.

  10. Can Jacqueline Perreault Gonzales do no wrong?

She consistently hits pieces out of the park and this announcement is no exception .. Tinker Bell, Ariel, Donald and now Rapunzel!

Love seeing the addition of a character not done before and from a recent film. Love everything about this piece .. the sense of movement, the character design and coloring.

Let me echo what everyone who posted before me has said .. Let's see more from Tangled!!

  11. A GREAT piece from a really wonderful modern Disney animated film. Hope we see more pieces in the future. Artistically, this has to be one of the best pieces in a while. The detail work on Rapuzel's hair is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the WDCC sculpture and painters. This is why WDCC is the premier 3D sculpture line for Disney.

  12. Love the detail of the hair and feet on her! This was also one of my favorite scenes in the movie and I LOVE the music from this scene. Every time I look at her I hear the music from that scene playing in my head. It evokes the joy I felt and I am so happy to have the newest Princess added to the collection.

  13. Following up my previous comment - I too want to see more from Tangled. Would really love to see Maximus - he stole the show! And as for Jacqueline she needs to do more signing events at independent retailers! Her sculpts are wonderful! I met her at WDW and she told me that one of her first attempts at sculpting were miniatures made from soap!! Now that's challenging and creative!
