A Forbidden Discovery!

The sixth release in the Of Dreams & Magic Series is from Disney's animated classic, Beauty and the Beast. This beautiful Members-Only sculpture captures the haunting beauty of one of Disney's most enthralling animated films.

Belle with the Rose Table ("Forbidden Discovery"), sculpted by Dusty Horner is available to active Society members from January 01, 2008 thru March 31, 2009.

A perfect pairing is Belle with the 2004 Numbered Limited Edition (NLE) sculpture of Beast ("Fury Unleashed") sculpted by Kent Melton. Within my presentation for Belle, I put together an image of Belle with Beast and I think you'll agree, they look awesome together!

  1. This is a wonderful sculpture! I love the interaction of Belle with the rose. I'm sad I missed getting the Enchanted Places table, but I'm glad I picked up Beast. He will look great with this piece. Love it!!!

  2. This one took me totally by surprise Tim. A perfect companion piece to Fury Unleashed. What a great scene this is going to make!

I plan to display the two pieces front and center and put Maurice off to the left. I know he looks for Belle prior to the West Wing Encounter but I think it will make a very effective setup. JTDO :)

  3. Of course, this is sooooooo going to be added to my collection!! Great job by Dusty. Love another amazing engineering job getting the rose to be suspended off Belle's fingers. Can't wait to see it in person!

  4. I'm loving this piece. The suspension of the rose does it for me. I have the first table, but this one has the dome off. WDCC is adding some great pieces from BATB.

  5. That is what impressed both Mary and myself on this piece, how they accomplished the effect of the rose being suspended. Another case of WDCC going that extra mile!

I have the original Rose Table and have displayed with Dancing Belle & Beast and the Enchanted Objects. Whereas the original shows the rose intact with the dome, I like how this one shows the fallen petals and has the Mirror on the table. This is a definite must have for us!

  6. I love this piece. It's perfect. Indeed, the suspention of the rose is what makes this piece so special.

  7. Wanted to also copy/paste Janeene's comment on Belle to the appropriate blog entry:

On another note and I'm sure the Duck can move this to it's proper place...they also had Belle on display. This piece is fabulous! The rose looks so delicate, but from what I hear, it and Belle's arm are all metal to prevent breakage. The effect of this piece is just stunning. Some were not happy with her face, but I thought it looked good. She looks astonished as she should seeing a beautiful floating rose.
