Enchanted Opens Today!

A classic Disney animated fairy tale meets with modern, live-action comedy in Walt Disney Pictures' Enchanted opening today!

Featuring an all- star cast, the film follows the beautiful princess Giselle (Amy Adams) as she is banished by an Evil Queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern-day Manhattan.

Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't operate on a "happily ever after" basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. But when Giselle begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid-- even though she is already promised to a perfect fairy tale prince (James Marsden) back home-- she has to wonder: Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

There are many parts of this movie that are clearly references to/spoofs/homages of other Disney animated movies, most of which involve princesses and typically, evil stepmothers. Visit the official website.

  1. Saw Enchanted last night and enjoyed it immensely!

Amy Adams is adorable as Giselle! Disney has created another great villain, Queen Narissa, played by Susan Sarandon.

There are so many great references to previous Disney films. Great crossover from animation to live-action and back plus great songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.

A Must See for the holiday weekend!

  2. I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in a long time! It was funny and touching at the same time!

The "Happy Working Song" and "That's How You Know" were wonderful.

Will definitely see this film again!

I was laughing out loud with all the homages and cameos in the new film "Enchanted."

I kinda noticed that the narrator sounded like Mary Poppins herself Julie Andrews and it was.

Watch out for Jodi Benson (Ariel's Voice) as McDreamy's Secretary. The aquarium at their lobby is playing "Part of Your World."

The soap opera actress is Paige O'Hara (Belle's Voice). The pregnant lady with many kids is Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas's singing voice).

And the reporter outside the Bella Notte restaurant was named Mary Ilene Caselloti from Mary Costa, Ilene Woods, and Adrianna Caselloti the voices of Aurora, Cinderella and Snow White respectively.

On a non-Disney homage, when Prince Edward (James Marsden)assaults a bus at Times Square, there's a Superman Returns billboard. In that film, he plays Lois' love interest Richard White of course.

Plus the Wicked Idina Menzel as the other love interest! Great casting!

I'm sure there were more I missed but these little things made the experience more enjoyable!
