On Monday, more information became available on the upcoming sixth (and final) release in the Pirate of the Caribbean Series. Today, official photos (showing both the front and rear angle) have been released of this amazing sculpture!
Jail Scene with Dog ("Here Give Us the Key ya Scrawny Little Beast!") is a Numbered Limited Edition (NLE) of 750 slated for Winter 2007/2008 (specific release month has not been finalized). An actual release date has not been confirmed. Concept by Ruben Procopio and sculpted by Tim Bruckner.
Peering out from the inside, the back angle of the sculpture accords a rare glimpse from inside the Pirates jail cell which attraction visitors never see. Note the cell mates counting of the days in captivity and some unwelcome visitors feasting on the remnants of food on the plates, utensils and mugs...
Please Note: All pieces in the Pirates of the Caribbean Series are not representative of any single theme park Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction or any specific point in time because each park's attraction is different and the attraction has changed over time from Walt's day to the present time.
So is this piece going to be a park exclusive or will it be available to our dealers as well? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Disney Gallery web site is listing that Ruben will be signing the piece on Feb 2nd at Disneyland. So I guess this means the piece will be released in the Feb time frame to the parks. Can't wait for this one!

I am an avid charter member and collector of WDCC My collection totals over 700 pieces. I would like to know a release date for the Jail scene. I have been trying to get in touch with the Art of Disney store in Orlando but they won't return my calls. I have left at least 4 messages. over three weeks. Do you know how to contact them. I live about 75 miles away and would drive over to pick up that piece. thanks Charles

My contact at Disney World indicated that each store received 2 pieces the week before Christmas and are expecting more the end of January. They are working from the wish lists first so be sure your name is on every list you can get it on. Good Luck!
Here are phone numbers within Walt Disney World® Resort:
Art of Disney-Downtown Disney (407) 828-3929
Art of Disney-Epcot (407) 560-6481
Animation Gallery-Disney Hollywood Studios (407) 560-4567
Unfortunately I don't have phone numbers for the Art of Disney in the Magic Kingdom or Disney Outfitters in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.
So I finally got my long awaited call back and have secured my Jail Scene.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to the rest of you that are waiting as well. Don't give up hope as they are coming in slowly!
Congratulations Geoffrey! Look forward to hearing your comments once received.
ReplyDeleteHi Behr - congratulations!! Can I ask where you are getting yours shipped from? I was in NYC World of Disney yesterday and they said they had only received 4 jail scenes in early January. The castmember didn't know if they would get any more deliveries. Also, the NYC store has never had a shipment of the Pirate on the Bridge piece. I had some Disney Visa reward points burning a hole in my pocket, but alas....need to wait for another day. Hopefully all of us who are on waiting lists will get calls soon!! Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI received mine from Walt Disney World. My understanding is that Disneyland is not going to receive anymore. I didn't realize that the Disney Stores were getting any of them. I know that four of the locations in WDW each received 2 in December and that this time they only got 3 each. I heard from the mailorder group at WDW that there was over 90 on the waiting list at one site alone. Good luck finding yours. I'll let you all know my thoughts when I receive mine!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW. This piece is definitely the center piece of this entire series. The detail is just amazing. Now I have the struggle to figure out how to display this piece so you can see both sides. The back is full of detail as well. My hope is that everyone that wants this piece gets one! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Geoffrey! Glad the piece arrived safely and appreciate the feedback. How would the piece work in a mirrored back curio, to capture both sides? A corner curio I bet would be perfect for this piece.
